An inverter is a device that takes the power from your DC
battery
source to household AC electricity giving you the power to
run
appliances such as televisions, lights, computers, and power
tools wherever you may be. Simply, an inverter increases
your
12 / 24 volt battery power to 230V AC power.
There are two forms of electric wave output generated by an
Inverter:
Modified sinewave are ideal to run appliances and
equipment such as power tools, non-digital microwave
ovens, low energy incandescent lights, PC.s and laptops.
The size inverter you require depends on what you wish to
operate. An 800W drill for example will require an inverter
with
an output of at least 800 watts rated output.
Do not overstate the size of inverter you require. Running a
100W bulb through a 1500W inverter will take more power from
your battery than running it through a 150W inverter.
