OutBack initially designed and manufactured integration hardware used by solar installers to house and protect power electronics installed in remote, often harsh locations around the world. Soon thereafter the Company launched a new line of inverter products delivering pure sine wave power for off-grid residential and commercial installations. In subsequent years, the Company expanded its product offering to include off-grid inverters with battery back-up, grid-tie inverters with battery back-up, maximum power point tracking (MPPT) charge controllers, communications/network products and a complete line of integration hardware.

INVERTER CHARGERS

OutBack inverter/chargers are the next generation in advanced power management. Each is a pure sinewave inverter, smart battery charger and AC transfer switch - 16 m/s switching- and all housed within a tough die-cast aluminum chassis.

Built into all Outback products is a unique networked communication system that provides complete integration. Expanding an Outback system is easy, as all you need to do is to add additional inverters with modular architecture. Further flexibility is provided with the ability to be connected at any time in either parallel, series or three-phase power configurations. Industry leading OutBack reliability is achieved through simplified design and rugged construction.

Radian Series Inverter/Chargers

The new Radian Series Inverter/Charger is an integrated power appliance that does it all. The Radian Series Inverter/Charger introduces a radical new feature to the world of renewable energy: Simplicity. Sure, our newest inverter/charger is a powerful solution. But it’s also engineered from the ground up to make design and installation a breeze. From the sunniest day to the storm that knocks out the grid for a week—this system is built to carry the load.

FX Sealed Inverter/Chargers

The FX series is designed to survive in environments that would normally destroy other inverter/chargers. Protection for internal components is provided by die-cast aluminum chassis with a powder coated finish to prevent corrosion. Internal and external cooling fins allow for passive heat transfer, enabling peak operating efficiencies as high as 93% and looking cool while doing it. Water and small particles are kept out through the generous use of gaskets and 0-ring seals on all seams and openings. A protective conformal coating on all circuit boards provides the final line of defense against corrosion. The now standard externally mounted "TURBO" cooling system improves performance in hot conditions.

VFX Vented Inverter/Chargers

The VFX series is designed for more protected installations. By utilizing an efficient active cooling design, the VFX models are available with AC output up to 3.6 kilowatts. The tough die-cast aluminum chassis physically protects the internal components while the air intake includes an easily cleaned filter, which allows for ventilation while also keeping bugs and other debris out. All circuit boards are conformal coated to prevent corrosion from airborne moisture in humid conditions. The now standard DC wiring cover (DCC) protects the DC terminals and battery cables from damage.

GFX Sealed Inverters/Chargers

The OutBack pure sinewave GFX International Series Inverter/Charger is a competitive power solution designed for applications with lower power demands. Incorporating a DC-to-AC sinewave inverter, battery charger and AC transfer relay housed within a die-cast aluminum chassis, the International Series GFX Inverter/Chargers give you the ability to sell solar, wind or hydro power back to the utility grid while providing instantaneous back-up power in the event of a utility outage.

The FLEXware system architecture provides a new level of flexibility in the design and installation of a power system by allowing horizontal or vertical mounting orientations for locations with limited wall space. The three levels of FLEXware products – the FLEXware 250, FLEXware 500 and FLEXware 1000 – can be used separately or together to meet your specific requirements and budget goals.
