Victron Batteries for Off Grid Power
Victron Energy offer two types of deep cycle battery: AGM and GEL Batteries.
Sealed (VRLA) AGM batteries
AGM stands for Absorbent Glass Mat. In these batteries the electrolyte is absorbed into a glass-fibre mat between the plates by capillary action. AGM batteries are more suitable for short-time delivery of very high currents (engine starting) than GEL batteries.
Sealed (VRLA) Gel batteries
In GEL batteries the electrolyte is immobilized as a gel. Gel batteries in general have a longer service life and better cycle capacity than AGM batteries.
AGM BATTERY SPECIFICATION
Design life 7-10 years.
Very low internal resistance making them particularly suitable for high current discharge applications such as, inverters, bow thrusters and winches as well as engine starting.
The use of high purity materials and lead calcium grids ensure that for batteries have particularly low self discharge so that they will not go flat during long periods without charge.
Supplied with M8 drilled, flat copper terminals ensuring best possible connection contact and eliminating the need for battery terminals.
Manufactured under ISO 9002 quality standards.
Compliant with both CE and UL specification.
Contained in ABS fireproof containers.

GEL BATTERY SPECIFICATION
The Victron GEL battery offers better deep cycle durability and a longer overall life.
Design life 12 years.
The GEL model range offer best deep cycle durability and overall longer life.

Low Self-discharge
Because of the use of lead calcium grids and high purity materials, Victron VRLA batteries can be stored during long periods of time without recharge. The rate of self-discharge is less than 2% per month at 20°C. The self discharge doubles for every increase in temperature with 10°C. Victron VRLA batteries can therefore be stored during up to a year without recharging, if kept under cool conditions.
Batteries in the range include: 12Ah, 35Ah,55Ah, 60AH,80Ah,100Ah,120Ah,150Ah and 200Ah.
